Setup

Nothing more is needed for this basketball shooting game other than a ball and the players.

Instructions

The game begins with the player taking a three point shot from anywhere along the three point line.  If the shot is made it is worth 3 points.  After the shot (made or missed) the player rebounds the ball gets one dribble and must shoot from there for their second shot of the game.  This shot is worth 2 points.  After the second shot the player then takes a free throw.  That ends the round and the next player in the game then takes their turn.  There is a possible 6 points per round.  There are 5 rounds per half.  Thus a total of 60 maximum points for the game.

Variations

The basketball coach can vary the number of rounds each half.  You could have a mini tournament where winners advance and losers are out.

Coaching Points

Focus on good shooting form.  Good balance, footwork and follow through.  Speed getting to the rebound is also emphasized as it will most likely result in an easier second shot.
